NASA, or the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, is the United States government agency responsible for the nation’s civilian space program and for aeronautics and aerospace research. Established in 1958, NASA conducts space exploration missions, develops new technologies for space travel, and performs scientific research related to Earth and outer space. The agency has been involved in numerous significant space missions, including the Apollo moon-landing missions, the Space Shuttle program, the Mars rover explorations, and the International Space Station (ISS) collaboration.
